Collaboration - Blog

Weblogs (aka "blog") are arguably one of the more popular categories of applications on the Internet today. This Blog is actually a collection of related modules which comprise all the working parts of a Blog. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.

Blog - Overview

Below is a description of the modules that provide this blogs functionality:

Menu: List of blog related actions that a user can take, based on permissions (e.g. changing settings, adding a post, etc).
Search: Utility for searching Blog content.
Roll: List of blogs on the site (or in some logical grouping)
Archive: Calendar indicating dates when blogs have been posted
Posts: Display of the lists and content of the blogs.

Example blogs:

Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on sports, photographs, web 2.0 and are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts.
